Golden and Glorious

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower”, wrote Albert Camus and I couldn't agree more. Last Saturday was so sunny and warm that I felt like staying at home would be a crime. Since days are only getting shorter, colder, and darker, every day like this should be celebrated! So I wanted to go somewhere, where culture and nature entwine. That's how an idea of going to Užutrakis manor, that is both an architectural and landscaping masterpiece, was born.

I've been in Užutrakis manor few times before, but never in autumn. I was mesmerized by shimmering golden and red leaves, and by calm surface of the Galvė Lake, that is also washing the shores of the island where stands famous Trakai Castle. Together with my husband and our loyal four-legged companion, we explored the surroundings of the manor and enjoyed the magnificence of that afternoon to our hearts' content.
